Shalom (שלום) from kindergarten.  After an eventful week of Simchat Torah (שמחת תורה) and Kindergartens consecration service we started this week of reviewing all of our Hebrew words to date:

     This week in kindergarten we started the morning off with talking about Yom Kippur and how that was a time of year when we asked for forgiveness from G-d for any bad things we may have done throughout the year.  We then moved on to Sukkot and learned that our Jewish ancestors wandered the desert for 40 years living in these huts.  We also learned that we remember this time in the desert by building Sukkot of our own, decorating them and living in them for about a week.  We sleep, eat and pray in our Sukkot.  We were then able to go outside and check out the Sukkah that the TBJ Brotherhood was putting up.  They let us go inside and look around to see what it was like in the Sukkah on a rainy day.  After getting damp from the rain we returned inside to finish our apple juice and animal crackers.

     We reviewed the Alef Bet song that Mrs. Shulman had taught the students last year.  After making sure that we were all saying the names of the letters correctly we began our Hebrew writing.  Using clear transparencies, with tracings of the Alef-Bet, we learned how to write the first 4 letters of the Alef-Bet.  ALEF א-   BET  ב-  GIMEL  ג-  DALETד-
